Staying True To Yourself
Melissa is a native of Victoria, Texas. She was crowned Miss Teen Texas 2005 at the Empire Theater in San Antonio, Texas in May of 2005.
Melissa dedicated her reign to "Staying True to Yourself, Despite Peer Pressure". Throughout her reign she encouraged and inspired young ladies to stay strong and be themselves.
Highlights of Melissa's reign included having her shoe inducted into the Houston Children's Museum, speaking to the San Jacinto Girl Scouts, the American Heart Association Heart Walk, For the Love of Kids and Harleys, and organizing a charity bake sale.
